About Sound Company

Having a strong passion for music and young musicians, she is thrilled to work with Sound Company and is excited about the musical moments in store for them. Strong holds a bachelor's in music from Maryville College and is currently working toward her Master's in Education from Northcentral University. She has completed the Performing Arts Industry Essentials certification program from NYU|Tisch School of Arts and is level one certified in Conversational Solfege. 

She is currently serving as the choral assistant to Maryville College's fine arts department and is the director of the MC Youth Choirs. Alongside Maryville College, she serves as the music and communications coordinator for Foothills UU Fellowship of Blount County, is the Children's Choir director at New Providence Presbyterian Church, is a private voice and acting teacher, and is serving as the president-elect for the East Tennessee General Music Educators Association for the 2021-2025 term. Through her experiences, she has gained knowledge on a variety of performance styles and skills, and she is looking forward to giving back to the music community after all the opportunities she has been provided through the years.

Michelle has been a teacher of elementary music in Oak Ridge for the past 24 years and has been the accompanist for the Toos for 8 years. Michelle graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in music education and French horn performance. She holds a Master's degree from UT in Music Performance.
