Sound Company Rehearsal and Performance Schedule

While we prefer participation in Sound Company to be a full school-year commitment, semester commitments may be available on a case-by-case basis for the 2022-2023 season.

Sound Company Schedule for Spring 2023

Monday Rehearsal Times:

• Littles: 4-4:45

• Toos: 4-5 pm

• Juniors: 4-5:20 pm

• Seniors: 5:30-7 pm

Spring Monday Rehearsals  

• January 9, 23, 30 (No rehearsal Jan. 16—MLK day)

• February 6, 13, 20, 27

• March 6, 27  (No rehearsals March 13 and 20—Oak Ridge Spring Break)

• April 3, 10, 17, 24

• May 2-5 (show week), 8 (short rehearsal with Hannah at the Grove for the joint piece with Oak Ridge Chorus from 4-5:30 pm), 15 (special rehearsal with Oak Ridge Chorus)

Performance Schedule

Rossini Festival Performance - Saturday, April 22nd, 10:15 AM

Tickets:  This performance is free and open to the public. Food, drinks, and crafts are not included, so plan accordingly-- this will be a wonderful, culturally-enriching experience for our students to have, seeing as there will be live performances and arts staged all around Downtown Knoxville. We hope you all will be encouraged to make a day of the event!
Location: Downtown Knoxville on the Choral Stage (located on Clinch Avenue at the entrance to Krutch Park and across the street from the East Tennessee History Center).
Parking: You'll want to arrive early to ensure you are able to find parking at a closeby garage. Most are within 1 to 2 blocks of walking distance of the choral stage.

  • Sound Check: 10:00 am

  • Performance: 10:15 am

Disney Dazzled! Performance, Sunday, May 7th - 3:00 PM

Tickets: This is a  ticketed event at $10 per person; children under 4 are free. Students will receive tickets to presale to family and friends, and extra tickets can be purchased at the door when guests arrive. All monies raised at this concert go to cover the costs of running Sound Company, supporting The Grove Theatre, and working to rebuild our scholarship funds since the COVID-19 pandemic/closures.
Location: The Historic Grove Theatre,  123 Randolph Road, Oak Ridge, TN, 37830
Parking: ADA spots are limited, due to the size of the lot. If you require close parking, we advise arriving no later than 2:30 pm. There is no parking fee.

    • Tuesday, May 2nd from 4-7 pm (Littles excused at 5:30 pm)

    • Wednesday, May 3rd,  from 4-7 pm (Littles excused at 5:30 pm)

    • Thursday, May 4th, from 4-7:30 pm (Littles excused at 5:30 pm)

      • Littles  4-5:30 p.m.

      • Toos 4-6:30 pm

      • Juniors and Seniors 4-6:00 pm 

      • Dinner break and SC Performer Photos from 6:00-7:00 pm (littles are invited to stay, but it isn't required of them; their pictures will be taken at 4:00 pm)

      • Soloists will have a group workshop with Hannah from 6:30-7:00 pm; other students will help with decorating welcome/concert boards for parents to see Sunday.

      • Juniors and Seniors 7:00-7:30 pm to clean up joint pieces

    • Sunday, May 7th, Disney Dazzled Concert, 3:00 pm

      • Directors/Band/Staff: 12:00 pm (whoever is available)

      • Student Arrival Time: 1:00 pm (ALL PERFORMERS)

      • Doors Open for Seating: 2:30 pm 

      • Performance: 3:00 -4:00 pm

The Big Screen on the Big Stage! Performance - Saturday, May 20th, 6:00 PM

 -Sound Company is a featured guest with the Oak Ridge Chorus-- We will perform our Lion King Medley and a joint piece with the Chorus!

Tickets:  These are available for purchase now on the ORCMA Website for this event-- Students (under 19) are free; young adults (19-29) are $5; all others are $15.

Dress Rehearsal Location: Tentatively, Roane State Community College, 701 Briarcliff Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830; Room to be confirmed.

Performance Location: Tentatively, the New Hope Center at YT-12, 602 Scarboro Road, Oak Ridge, 37830

Parking: Nothing to note at this time.

• • Monday, May 15th, Joint Piece Rehearsal, 7:00 pm (Roane State Oak Ridge Campus)

    • "Over the Rainbow" rehearsal with the chorus (been requested to be done first so students can be dismissed by 7:30 pm); Hannah WILL NOT be present due to international travel with Maryville College; Parent Board member(s) will need to be present.

  • TBD, May 18 or 19, Dress Rehearsal, 6:00 pm (New Hope Center at YT-12)

    • "Over the Rainbow" rehearsal with the chorus (been requested to be done first so students can be dismissed by 7:30 pm); Hannah WILL be present; Parent Board member(s) presence is appreciated,  but not required. 

  • Saturday, May 20th, Big Screen on the Big Stage Performance, 6:00 pm (New Hope Center at YT-12)

    • Arrival Time: 3:30 pm (To be confirmed)

    • Warm-Up/Run: 4:00-5:00 pm
